Breve Introdução

The advanced study course TECHNOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT ENTERPRISE (TME) will lead to a 3rd. cycle Bologna Diploma jointly awarded by three Portuguese Universities: Universidade Técnica de Lisboa - Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade do Porto - Faculdade de Engenharia (FEUP) e Universidade do Minho - Escola de Engenharia (UMinho).

The course was developed with the support of the Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the framework of the Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing (EDAM) focus area of the Portugal - MIT Program.

The course comprises a curricular component and the elaboration of an industrial oriented thesis.

Lectures and thesis orientation will be assured by professors and researchers from MIT (Engineering Systems Division), UMinho, FEUP and IST.

Selected students will be assigned research projects in cooperation with the Industrial affiliates of the Portugal - MIT Program.

Objectivos

To train, under an intensive program, Technical Managers for Product Development and Production Systems. To develop human resources competences for bridging technical and management issues under a demanding production environment.

Destinatários

Technical staff of Portuguese and European companies (with engineering education) aiming at developing a career in technical or production management, with 2-3 years of practical experience. Typical background formation (5 years) will be mechanical eng, materials/polymer eng, electronic eng, industrial eng and chemical eng. Other technical education background may be considered, based on relevant professional experience.

Saídas Profissionais

TME graduates are capable of leading multidisciplinary teams in product development and manufacturing operations to address a multitude of challenges in engineering design and manufacturing, namely: innovative product development, advanced processing / fabrication solutions, optimisation of production processes under an integrated perspective of the product cycle.
