Thursday, March 3th, at 16h00, the seminar “Design and Planning of the Oil Supply Chain“ will be held, presented by Susana Relvas , from IST.

Venue: Room Q4.2, Chemical Engineering Building, IST - Alameda Campus

Susana Relvas is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Management of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Lisboa, where she has been a faculty member since 2008. She obtained her PhD in 2008 in Industrial Engineering and Management from IST with the topic “Optimal Pipeline Scheduling and Inventory Management of a Multiproduct Oil Distribution Centre”, where she collaborated directly in an R&D project with Companhia Logística de Combustíveis. She already supervised 2 PhD and more than 20 MSc students. Currently she  is supervising 6 PhD students and 7 MSc.. She authored/co-authored 20 publications in peer reviewed papers in international journals indexed in the Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge, from which more than 10 refer to the Oil Supply Chain. Her research interests are in Supply Chain Management, namely in the Oil Supply Chain, Biofuels Supply Chain, Resilience, Risk and Sustainability Management as well as Retail Operations/Operations Management. She uses Operations Research methods, focusing in mathematical programming, to develop solution procedures for the problems at hand. She is currently in the Directive Board of the National Association of Operations Research (APDIO). She was co-coordinator of the BSc and MSc studies in Industrial Engineering and Management at IST between 2011-2014.

Academic Grant Program signed between CERENA and Paradigm Company

16 dezembro 2015, 16:04 Elisa do Nascimento Pires Costa

CERENA and Paradigm (http://pdgm.com), the largest independent developer of software-enabled solutions to the global oil and gas industry, signed an Academic Grant Program for the donation of academic licenses of Paradigm’s Echos and SeisEarth. This oil and gas E&P industry’s leading systems for seismic processing and visualization will be available for CERENA’s researchers, as well as for the students from the Master in Petroleum Engineering of Instituto Superior Técnico. The students will be able to use this standard industry software for developing their Research thesis and during their practical work developed under the course on seismic reflection data processing. Finally, this is the first collaboration between a Portuguese University and Paradigm. This new agreement was only possible due to the strong and internationally recognized connection between CERENA and the oil and gas industry and the success of the Master in Petroleum Engineering.
